"The Mistress of the Copper Mountain" is a famous fairytale by a Russian author P.Bazhov first published in 1936.

Bazhov first heard stories about The Mistress of the Copper Mountain from the workers in the factory oh his town.
The Copper Mountain - is the name of a Gumeshki copper mine in the Urals.
There are various appearances of the Mistress of Copper Mountain  in the mining and working folklore has various options: Mountain Uterus, Stone Girl, Golden Woman, Mountain Spirit, Elder Mountain, Mountain boss.
